Paul Cahill - B.Ec LLB - Accredited Family Law Specialist - Principal

Paul CahillPaul was admitted to practice as a Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Victoria and of the High Court of Australia in 1983 after completing his Bachelor of Law and Bachelor of Economics at Monash University. Paul has been a Law Institute Accredited Family Law Specialist since 1992 making him one of Australia's longest serving and most senior Family Law Specialists. Paul is amongst the very few Accredited Family Law Specialists practicing in the Geelong and Werribee areas.

Paul has a longstanding reputation amongst both clients and his peers for excellence in the field of Family Law. His services are regularly and frequently sought after by clients who seek assistance with division of matrimonial property following separation. Paul's skills and expertise are particularly sought after by clients with more complex financial arrangements including businesses, companies and trusts. As an Accredited Family Law Specialist with more than 25 years of practicing experience behind him, Paul is well equipped to deal with these issues. Paul also offers advice and assistance to clients interested in protecting their assets prior to marriage by way of pre-nuptial arrangements
and agreements.

Paul is frequently called upon by other lawyers for advice and counsel in relation to more complex Family Law matters and has provided his opinions and advice to various agencies and organizations on Family Law issues. Over the years, Paul has developed a strong and close working relationship with all of the various organizations involved in the Family Law system, including Victoria Legal Aid, the Family Court, the Federal Magistrates' Court and the Magistrates' Court in Geelong. Paul was, for many years, a member of the Committee of Management for the Geelong Community Legal Service. Since ending his involvement with that Committee, Paul has continued to volunteer his time at the Legal Service providing free legal advice and assistance to clients in need. Paul is a member of the Law Institute of Victoria and of the Family Law Section of the Law Council of Australia.

Paul is open and friendly in his communications with clients and is well-known for his personal approach to each and every client's particular situation and need. He is also very widely regarded for the very specific attention he pays to the technical detail of each case and for the strategies he adopts and implements in order to achieve the best possible result for each and every one of his clients.

Allison Rowe - BA. LLB (Hons) - Family Lawyer - Principal

Allison Rowe, Founding Partner and Senior Family Lawyer at Cahill and Rowe, has personally experienced in recent years the painful process of separation and divorce with a young child involved.

Now drawing on this personal experience, and her 14 years in legal practice as a Family Lawyer, Allison represents her clients passionately, personally and with the meticulous attention to detail for which she is well known and regarded.

Allison founded the Cahill and Rowe practice (then Rowe Lawyers) in 2003, at the age of only 28 years and after working for several years in the legal aid sector.

Allison represents clients in both parenting and property settlement matters and has a particular interest in parenting arrangements for very young children and issues confronting blended/step families.

Mairead Taylor - BA. LLB (Hons) - Family Lawyer

Mairead Taylor commenced with Cahill & Rowe Family Law whilst completing her law qualifications, completing a Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Laws (Hons) and the Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice.

Previously volunteering with the Wyndham Legal Service and Victoria Legal Aid has reiterated to Mairead the importance of Family and made the decision to focus solely on Family Law an easy decision.

Passionate about children’s issues, Mairead hopes to qualify as an Independent Children’s lawyer in the future.

Mairead also enjoys property matters and helping her clients start over after separation. Mairead enjoys working with her clients to help them formulate solutions for their family.

Being a mother of 2 makes Mairead aware of the issues relevant to children and assisting families to transition through these turbulent times with as little disruption as possible to the children.  

Vanessa Lopreiato - BA(Hons). LLB(Hons) - Family Lawyer

Vanessa Lopreiato began her career at Cahill and Rowe Family Law, after completing her Bachelor of Laws (Honours) and Bachelor of Arts (Honours) at Deakin University, and obtaining a Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice from Leo Cussen Centre for Law. She is admitted to practice in the Victorian Supreme Court and the High Court of Australia.

Whilst completing her studies, Vanessa volunteered at Brimbank Melton Community Legal Centre and Victoria Legal Aid. It was these volunteering roles that led Vanessa to pursue her law career in an area that was ‘people focused’ and retained maximum client contact. A progression into the area of Family Law was a simple decision to make.

Vanessa’s aim in working in the area of Family Law is to assist clients in what is often the most difficult time in their lives, making the process as simple and straightforward as possible.

She enjoys assisting clients with issues regarding children and is able to assist those who qualify for legal aid. She also enjoys helping clients to resolve their property issues after separation.
